Why We Do It
When you make that decision to start a travel blog, the next biggest decision is always “What shall we call it?”
I really wanted the name to be reflective of who I am today, what my life is like now, and why this travel blog is so important to me.

While I was in the military I would spend countless hours dreaming of the days when that life would
be complete and I could move on to other endeavors that would bring a whole different sense of
joy to my life.

My soul would wander in search of things that would finally give it peace. My mind would wander to places that I’d not discovered as yet. Places that even in my imagination, were almost incomprehensibly beautiful. My sub-conscience would wander in my sleep to things that I’d accomplish far beyond the constraints of the military and all that that entailed.

And finally, my heart would wander, searching for a love that I knew existed, but had not yet encountered, always holding out hope that one day, it would cross my path.

All that wandering has come to fruition now as I embark on this new adventure and most importantly, I now have that love that I’ve long searched for, wandering by my side, exploring the world beyond the military with me.

I can’t imagine a better way to share this adventure that we call life, than with my amazing husband,
ending each day with me, wandering into new sunsets, hopefully with a glass of wine in our hands.

Cheers!
About Me
I am Lisa Taylor and I'm writing this to share with you the experiences I've had making that big leap from single career soldier to wife, small business owner, and RV Travel Blogger. Two Wandering Winos is about change, exploration, and learning to live your best life.
I am a retired veteran. I spent 26 years as an active duty member of the Texas Army National Guard, and in 2015 I retired.
Learning to enjoy life after a lifetime in the military isn't as easy as it sounds. Walking away from a long career, reinventing yourself, and discovering new passions is a journey in and of itself and quite honestly scary as hell, especially when I was going to do it solo. But, life has a funny way of happening doesn't it?

I'll share more of that story as we transverse through this journey together, but I feel I will have been remiss in my duties as the author of this blog to not tell you the story, at some point, of how I met my husband and travel partner.
